Automated Facial Recognition

YourArchive are delighted to announce the introduction of automated facial recognition within the YourArchive system.

Facial recognition takes the manual effort out of identifying and tagging friends, family, colleagues, or whomever it may be, throughout your archive. Simply switch on the facial recognition and let our system do the hard work of identifying all the faces in your images. Once a face is picked up you can either merge them into someone already in your people list or add them as a new person and they’ll then be tagged everywhere they appear.

You can quickly and easily merge people records together, if the system doesn’t recognise someone in a photo where they’re much older or younger for example, and you can easily remove any faces that you don’t want picked up (such as people in the background of photos).

As with all elements of YourArchive everything is at your complete control, choose to run facial recognition across your whole archive, on specific folders, or even just on individual images and you can decide whether to make tagged people visible in your galleries, or not.

The security of your content remains our primary concern, any images requested for facial recognition are run through the recognition service for analysis and only metadata about the face being stored. No names or images are stored by the service.

Facial recognition is included in all tiers at no additional cost, so what are you waiting for, sign up today and start building your archive completely free of charge.

Are you a school, university, charity, or other organisation? If so please email us to find out how YourArchive and the automated facial recognition feature could be used to drive greater engagement with your community.
